Salon, Barber & Grooming Shear Sharpening

Your shears are your livelihood. We sharpen hair shears, thinners, grooming shears, clipper blades and surgical instruments right at your salon, shop or clinic.

Dull shears fold hair, pull coats and strain your hands. A proper sharpening restores a clean, smooth cut and extends the life of expensive shears.

We come to your location, so you stay on the floor and keep serving clients. Cosmetology schools can ask about bulk pricing for student kits.

Veterinary offices and groomers: we also sharpen surgical scissors and light instruments such as hemostats.

Frequently asked questions

How much does mobile knife sharpening cost?

Kitchen knives under 8 inches are $6 and large chef knives are $8 for residential customers, with a $40 minimum service call. Restaurants, butchers and food service pay $8 to $12 per knife with a $75 minimum.

Do you come to my location?

Yes. Redeeming Edge is a mobile sharpening service. We come to your home, shop, salon, kennel or job site, so you never ship tools out or lose days without them. Home drop-off is also available.

Do you sharpen chainsaw chains and lawn mower blades?

Yes. Chainsaw chains are $10 to $15, mower blades are $8 to $12, and we also sharpen hedge trimmers, brush blades and hand pruners.

How often should salon shears and grooming shears be sharpened?

Most working stylists and groomers do best with a sharpening every 3 to 6 months, depending on volume. If shears start folding hair or pulling, they are overdue.

What equipment do you use?

We use a Tormek T8 water-cooled sharpener. It runs quiet, throws no sparks and keeps the steel cool, so edges are not overheated or damaged.

Do you offer recurring service for businesses?

Yes. Monthly plans start at $79 for 10 tools and scale up to unlimited tools for commercial shops, so your edges stay sharp without you having to think about it.

What payment methods do you accept?

Card, cash, check, Venmo and Cash App.
